| The
National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial was established in 1991 in
order to honor fallen heroes. Mag was one of three original corporate sponsors and contributed $50,000
to the memorial fund. The memorial is located in Judiciary Square in
Washington D.C. and was built and dedicated to the nation’s law
enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. Oval in shape, the
memorial’s "pathway of remembrance" allows each visitor to
read the names of over 15,000 names inscribed on the memorial. President
George Bush, Sr. assisted in the dedication of the memorial in 1991. John
Wyatt, Vice President of Sales, attended the event on behalf of Mag and
remarked at the time that, "Mag’s contribution is simply our way of
showing our gratitude for the support that Mag-Lite® flashlights have received from
law enforcement officers across the nation."
Mag has supplemented its initial commitment over the last ten years in
order to help insure that the men and women who have laid down their lives
for our protection will never be forgotten. |
