Mag Instrument, the highly successful manufacturer of the Mag-Lite® flashlight, has an immediate opening for an Electronics Technician that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

Support Engineering activities related to new product R&D including system design, test, fabrication, SMT rework, and design of production functional testers. Applications will include analog, power, digital, and logic systems. Works from schematics, block diagrams, written, and verbal descriptions. Uses lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers and various specialized test apparatus. Will be responsible for maintaining electronics lab including general organization, ordering of supplies, kitting for hand built assemblies and instrument calibration.

Required Skills:

•Must have intermediate to advanced proficiency in C/C++ application development.

•Experience writing Embedded C applications for Atmel and Microchip microcontrollers is preferred.

•Excellent solder skills including fine pitch SMT.

•Ability to troubleshoot complex electronic assemblies.

•Must be able to work on multiple assignments simultaneously, balancing workload and priority to maximize project completion timeliness.

•Must understand schematics and complicated test diagnostics

•Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software. Knowledge of Mentor Graphics PADS Logic and PADS Layout a plus. Knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD also a plus.

Education and Experience:

•AS in electronics with 3+ years relevant work experience.
