What America Makes Best
American Style Magazine
Maglite® flashlights belong to an elite class revered for their rugged construction and indestructibility. Made of anodized, precision-machined, aircraft aluminum, Maglites® are shock and water-resistant. The Mini Maglite® is one of the best examples of their line. Shorter than six inches long and weighing fewer than two ounces, the Mini Maglite® emits a beam of light up to seventy times brighter than flashlights of similar size. It can be focused from a broad flood to a spot beam. With a varied selection of holsters, the Mini Maglite® can be clipped to clothing, attached to a key ring, or hung from a belt. The tailcap houses a spare bulb.

Nomination by Professor Rido Busse: Looking at the flashlight market before the advent of the MagLite® series, one can see how innovative this product series is. Admittedly, there were some superbly designed plastic flashlights around, but as I regards both price and workmanship the vast majority were cheap sheet-metal trash. Both the visual and tactile impressions convey an impressive sense of quality. With a product like this it's hardly necessary to question its technical dependability. The series includes everything, from a minute key ring flashlight to a big hand-lamp you practically need a weapons license for - with an astonishing consistency in design.
